Finally some News

So as you'll all recall, several weeks ago I sent a letter to our Attorney General. I complained that the County Attorney was not doing their job by allowing our children to wallow in foster care for the last 3 1/2 to 4 years. He kindly told me he couldn't help me, I understand that he cannot take sides in a court case, but had he told me he'd light the fire under the butts of the people who were supposed to be looking into this, that would have been good.

So, after contacting the AG, I was contacted by our local representative's legal counsel. He looked into it for me, said that the county attorney was content with it being 'finalized' back in 2006 when the placed the kids in Permanent foster care Managing Conservatorship. He suggested that we hire an attorney, which we already had done.

Our attorney says that a sufficient fire was lit under the butts of the people there and they are sometime in the next 90 days going to 'begin' proceedings to terminate rights. She's going to pester them once a week until they do. We'll have to go there, but at least we can maybe finally get this done.

So, you want to hear the excuse reason they have been unwilling to pursue termination up until this point? Mama was depressed. Mama didn't understand the process. Mama couldn't emotionally handle having her kids taken away. Well, then maybe Mama should have gotten her act together. Mama doesn't appear to have the Mama bear instinct that is a major component of mothering. I think we all know what I'm tired of....

Way to be persistent! recently I have encoutered to most awful "selfish mother" stories! I just can't wrap my brain around it and understand where they are coming from!

I hate how the kids are left to flounder while the "poor bio mom" struggles to get it together. Based on how they decide things it should not be called CHILD protective services. Keeping ya'll in my prayers!

Urgh. There's zero excuse that can give these kids back the 4 years of limbo and confusion. I'm praying that in 90 days, there will be positive forward movement towards permanency. Why 90 days, by the way? Why not tomorrow?

90 days because she just became competent I guess. She "didn't understand" what was happening. This will give her an opportunity to work her service plan.

They honestly buy the fact that she didn't get it? Please.

What about the kids? Why don't they give a rip about them living in limbo?

Someone, somewhere, with some letters after their name did honestly believe that mama was incompetent in the sense that she didn't get it. I would agree with the incompetent, but she totally got it. If one is so mentally deficienet that they don't understand that they lost their kids and it could be permanent, then do we really want them having care and control over six kids anyway?

Oh, baloney! I thought the problem with the system was possibly and "around here" thing, but I guess it is universal. They sure have a way of making MY blood boil!

Wow, Annie, sounds like it's going in the right direction! I'm happy for you!

So will 90 days be considered sufficient time for her to actually work her service plan? They really believe that? Surreal. What judge would buy into that?
